The LEEFH Foundation is celebrating its 10th anniversary. On Monday, October 9, we celebrated this milestone with 100 FH healthcare providers from 30 hospitals, patients, donors, and other FH stakeholders from across the Netherlands. Chaired by Erik Stroes (medical director of LEEFH, internistat Amsterdam UMC), the discussion focused on the past, present, and future of the detection and treatment of familial hypercholesterolemia.
Speakers included: John Kastelein (co-founder of StTOEH, among other things), Dennis Boor (director of Stichting LEEFH), Willemijn Schonck (Amsterdam UMC, who led the patient experiences section), Rens Reeskamp (OLVG, Amsterdam UMC,Lipid Tools), Ineke Sterk (Rivas Care Group,Beatrix Hospital Gorinchem), and Danick Werner (Amphia Hospital).
The afternoon concluded with a spectacular panel discussion. The panel consisted of Jeanine Roeters van Lennep (Erasmus MC), Willem Bax (Noordwest Ziekenhuisgroep), Jan Westerink (Isala), Albert Wiegman (Amsterdam UMC), and Nick Nurmohamed (Amsterdam UMC, Lipid Tools).
