FH Awareness Day 2025

It's International FHAwareness Day 2025! In 2024, 166,143 children were born in the Netherlands (according to Statistics Netherlands). With an estimated prevalence of 1 in 300, that means around 554 children have FH.

Bert Wiegman and Martina Cornel Join the Supervisory Board of LEEFH

After many years, Rob van der Kolk and Hester den Ruijter are stepping down as members of LEEFH’s Supervisory Board. “As a doctor, it is reassuring to know that LEEFH actively tracks down family members.”

Patients with (suspected) hereditary forms of high cholesterol are welcome at the Internal Medicine outpatient clinic within the St. Antonius Hospital in the Utrecht region. Internist-vascular physicians Bart Rövekamp and Annemarie Pijlman provide care here for individuals with familial hypercholesterolemia (FH). Since 2024, St. Antonius has been a LEEFH center.
