Researchers Weijs and Schonck of Amsterdam UMC, along with their co-authors, have published an article in the *Journal of Clinical Lipidology* titled “Familial Hypercholesterolemia Cascade Testing: Insights from the Dutch Program”
The researchers analyzed data from the Dutch FH Cascade Research Program (LEEFH, 2014–2024).
The results include the number of people tested, the diagnostic yield, the number of identified family members per index patient, trends over time, and referral patterns. Geographic coverage was mapped by linking test data to ZIP codes and comparing the identified cases with the estimated prevalence of FH.
The article is open source and can be found at https://www.lipidjournal.com/article/S1933-2874%2826%2900503-9/fulltext.
