Last year, several LEEFH centers began hosting informational sessions for patients and their immediate families. These sessions were a success, attracting between 100 and 170 FH patients and their family members. Are you planning to organize a session in your region? We’d be happy to share our experiences and help you with the program and materials.
LEEFH invited all FH patients from the relevant region. It turned out that many family members had not taken any action when the population screening revealed they had FH. Consequently, they did not contact their primary care physician and were not treated. Many families are now a generation further along and are aware that their children can also be tested. We also shared information about treatment, target levels, and referrals to specialists, which was greatly appreciated by those in attendance.
