Janneke Wittekoek is leaving LEEFH. She has served as medical director for 4.5 years. With all her knowledge and enthusiasm, Janneke has made a tremendous contribution to LEEFH. We are pleased to announce that Erik Stroes will be taking over her responsibilities. We wish Janneke Wittekoek the very best of luck in all her future endeavors in the (medical) world and will miss her at LEEFH! Thank you, Janneke!

Janneke on her departure from LEEFH:
“After more than 4.5 years as medical director at the LEEFH Foundation, it is time to pass the baton. On the one hand, because my own clinic (HeartLife) is taking up more and more of my time; on the other hand, because I believe it is good to enter the next phase with fresh insights and energy. We’ve managed to put the LEEFH Foundation on the map, not as a standalone foundation but as a strong network of hospitals with dedicated FH specialists! I’m proud of these developments. We’re currently working closely with the Dutch Heart Foundation as a key partner. Among other things, they’re helping us lobby the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport to re-explore active screening. A strong business case that we drafted and costed with Vintura over the past year should help us achieve this. I’ve had a wonderful time at the LEEFH Foundation and have enjoyed working with all parties. Erik Stroes will be taking over from me, and I believe that with his energy and enthusiasm, he will certainly succeed in positioning LEEFH even more strongly within the healthcare sector. With or without subsidies. I want to wish him every success and express my deep gratitude to Manon, Sabine, Mijke, and Marga… and to everyone involved in the mission to identify another 40,000 FH patients. I will remain an ambassador for the Foundation and will continue to support this wonderful mission wherever possible!”
