In the news: living longer with high cholesterol

Patients from families with a history of high cholesterol can live up to 11 years longer. When the disease is detected and treated early, they have a significant chance of exceeding the average life expectancy of 61 years for people with hypercholesterolemia. According to Manon Houter, director of the LEEFH Foundation, 700 people in the Netherlands are diagnosed with hypercholesterolemia every year.
